An endless grid. Line up your squares before the other player blocks you, and learn a Lao syllable with every move.
Tap any empty square to color it. A Lao syllable appears on it, such as ກາ (kaa). The board grows as you play.
Four (or three) of your color in a row, column or diagonal wins. Block the other player's line by taking a square in it.
Stones block a square for both players. They fall by themselves on levels 2 and 3.
Color a star square to get a toy. Use a toy from your pocket on your turn, then still make your move.
Table of Champions is a two-player game on a grid that never runs out of room. Both players use the same screen and take turns. Every square you color shows a Lao syllable, so a game is also a little reading practice.
Be the first to line up four squares of your color in a row, column or diagonal. If you choose "3 in a row" in the top bar, three is enough instead. Lines of more than the needed length also win.
Each syllable is one of the 27 Lao consonants joined with a vowel: ກະ (ka), ຂາ (khaa), ເດ (de), ໂມ (mo) and so on. Say it out loud as you play. When the browser has a Lao voice, the game reads it for you. The winning line is shown again on the congratulation screen as a chant.
If the other player has a line growing, take the square that would extend it. A square can only be colored once, so a block is permanent.
Tapped the wrong square? Press Take back last mark before the next move is made. The square is cleared and the turn goes back to the player who made the mistake. Taking back is not allowed after the game is won.
| Level | Stones | Stars give |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Classic | none | no stars |
| 2 · Toys | fall sometimes | Block |
| 3 · Champion | fall often | Block or Bomb |
Changing the level or the win length starts a new game.
When a line is complete the winning squares flash one after another, the board shakes, a fanfare plays and confetti bursts over the congratulation screen, which shows the syllables of your winning line. Wins are counted on each bench. Press New game to play again. The 🔊 button mutes all sounds.
